CVCAN hosted a Cannabis Candidate Forum focused on the upcoming mayoral and city council elections in Desert Hot Springs.  The event was held at Miracle Springs Resort & Spa.

The candidates for the office of Mayor included incumbent Mayor Scott Matas, City Councilman, Russell Betts and RJ Giboney.

The candidates for the 4^th district City Council seat who attended the event were Dirk Voss and Charles Lantz.

Jocelyn Kane, Vice President of CVCAN, moderated the event asking each of the candidates a variety of questions generally related to their experience with cannabis businesses in Desert Hot Springs, as well as their observations on what steps might be taken to enhance opportunities in the cannabis space. Topics of conversation included the current and potential future tax matters, consumption lounge and consumption event opportunities and so much more.

Candidates then fielded questions from attendees at the event in a robust give and take.

The event was well attended by a variety of DHS residents and business owners.

Policy is made by those who show up.  And we are so pleased that so many inquisitive voters showed up.

We would like to thank our facility host, Miracle Springs Resort & Spa, for making us feel welcome and providing refreshments.  We would also like to thank each of the candidates for taking the time to share their views and opinions.
